You have used the same serum for years, you type "Jan Marini" into a search bar, and suddenly the packaging looks different: green instead of silver, a pump instead of a jar. The first thought is understandable — did they change my product? No. Marini SkinSolutions (voorheen Jan Marini), founded in 1994 in San José, California, was officially renamed Marini SkinSolutions in June 2025. Same formulas, same active ingredients, same professional standard; a new name and new packaging. Below we explain calmly what changed, what did not, and how to find your trusted products again.
Why the name changed
Marini SkinSolutions is not a new company and not a new product range. The rename that took effect in June 2025 is a change of name and presentation, not of chemistry. The brand's DNA stays exactly where it was: science-based skincare that comes out of professional practice, developed for and used by skin therapists and dermatologists, and underpinned by peer-reviewed and independent clinical studies. Alongside the new name came a switch to sustainable, fully recyclable packaging. That switch is being rolled out gradually and will be completed by mid-2026, which is why silver and green packaging can sit side by side on the shelf for a while. If you have been buying Jan Marini for years, you simply continue with the same products under the new brand name.
What stays exactly the same
Three things are worth remembering. First: the formulas and active ingredients are unchanged, so the results you were used to are the results you can keep expecting. Second: the product and line names stay the same. Age Intervention, C-ESTA, Bioglycolic, Transformation, Luminate, Hyla3D, Rosalieve, Zyme, Marini Physical Protectant and Bioshield, Juveneck and CelluliTx all keep their familiar names, as do the Skin Care Management System kits for Dry/Very Dry, Normal/Combination and Oily skin. Third: the professional approach is intact — the well-known five-step Skin Care Management System (cleanse, correct/rejuvenate, renew, hydrate, protect) is still the backbone of the brand. The award-winning heroes are also unchanged: Age Intervention Retinol Plus is still known for 0.3% retinol combined with peptides, and C-ESTA is still known for stable vitamin C with DMAE for firmness.
What is new: packaging you can actually recycle
The most visible change is the colour: the classic silver has become green. Less visible but more useful in daily practice is the switch from jars and pipettes to pump bottles. A pump limits contact with fingers and air, which is more hygienic and makes dosing more consistent — handy with actives such as retinol and vitamin C, where a pea-sized amount is usually enough. The new packaging is also fully recyclable, which is a real step for a brand that used to rely on heavy jars.
A few practical notes. A new pump sometimes needs a few presses before product comes through; that is normal. Do not decant your product into another container, because you lose exactly the hygiene benefit the pump was designed for. Keep the bottle closed and out of direct sunlight, and remember that textures and scents have not been reformulated: what comes out of the green bottle is what came out of the silver one.
How to recognise your familiar products
The simplest trick: search on the product name or line name rather than the brand name. "Age Intervention Retinol Plus" is still called Age Intervention Retinol Plus, "C-ESTA Face Serum" is still C-ESTA Face Serum, and "Bioglycolic Face Cleanser" has not changed either. Check the line name and product name on the front and the volume on the side, and you will know immediately whether you have the right item — regardless of whether the bottle is silver or green.
Buy from an official point of sale, especially during a transition period when two designs circulate. Beautyfashionshop is an official point of sale through the Dutch distributor Beauty Point International, with more than thirty products shipped from our own warehouse in the Netherlands. During the transition you may receive either design; the contents are identical.
Rebuilding your routine in five steps
If the rebrand is a good moment to review your routine, keep it simple. Cleanse morning and evening with a cleanser suited to your skin type. Then correct and rejuvenate with an antioxidant serum in the morning. Renew in the evening with a retinol or an exfoliating acid — not both on the same night when you are starting out, and build up from two evenings a week. Hydrate with a cream that matches your skin's needs, and protect with sunscreen every morning, because that is what keeps everything else worthwhile. Introduce one new active at a time and give your skin several weeks to adjust. If your skin is reactive, if you are pregnant, or if you are unsure whether an ingredient suits you, ask a skin therapist or your GP first.
Which Marini SkinSolutions products fit here
Age Intervention® Retinol Plus
The best-known way to start with retinol from this brand: 0.3% retinol combined with peptides, for evening use in the renewal step. Suitable if you want to work on skin texture and fine lines and prefer a well-guided introduction to retinol. Apply a small amount to a clean, dry face in the evening, start two evenings a week and build up as tolerated. Always pair with daily sun protection. View Age Intervention Retinol Plus
Age Intervention Retinol Plus MD
The more advanced option within the Age Intervention line, intended for skin that is already accustomed to retinol. Use it in the evening only, keep the amount modest, and never combine it with a strong exfoliating acid on the same night while your skin is adapting. If retinol is new to you, start with the standard version first. View Retinol Plus MD
Bioglycolic® Face Cleanser
A glycolic acid cleanser from the Bioglycolic line for step one of the routine. A pleasant choice if you like your skin to feel genuinely clean and smooth without a tight, stripped feeling. Massage over damp skin morning and/or evening and rinse thoroughly; if you also use retinol, begin with once a day. View Bioglycolic Face Cleanser
Bioglycolic® Oily Skin Cleansing Gel
The gel version from the same line, developed with oily skin in mind. Ideal if your skin looks shiny by midday or if you wear make-up and sunscreen daily. Use it as your evening cleanse and, if your skin tolerates it well, in the morning too. View Oily Skin Cleansing Gel
Frequently asked questions
Is Marini SkinSolutions the same brand as Jan Marini?
Yes. Marini SkinSolutions (voorheen Jan Marini), founded in 1994 in San José, California, was officially renamed Marini SkinSolutions in June 2025. It is the same company with the same formulas, actives and professional standard — only the name and the packaging have changed.
Have the formulas or ingredients been changed?
No. The formulas and active ingredients remain the same, as does the professional standard behind them. Age Intervention Retinol Plus still contains 0.3% retinol with peptides, and C-ESTA still relies on stable vitamin C with DMAE for firmness.
Why did I receive silver packaging instead of green?
The transition to the new green, fully recyclable packaging with pump bottles is being completed gradually, by mid-2026. Both designs may therefore be in circulation for a while. The contents are identical, so you can keep using your product as before.
