Where the regular Whitening Mint is made to keep teeth bright, Smokers Whitening was developed for people whose discolouration is already there: from smoking, from daily coffee or tea, from red wine. The formula contains a special polymer that binds to the pigments on the tooth surface and lifts them step by step with daily use. Fluoride and xylitol protect against cavities and keep the bacterial flora in balance.

How does Smokers Whitening work?

Tobacco and coffee stains are extrinsic: they sit on the enamel, not inside it. The polymer in Smokers Whitening binds to that layer and softens it, so the fine polishing particles (hydrated silica) can remove it without aggressively abrading the enamel. This is a different mechanism from bleaching with hydrogen peroxide: it works gradually, but without the sensitivity peroxide causes for many people.
