Toothpaste for smokers
Toothpaste against smoke and coffee stains
Smoking and coffee leave a yellow to brown layer on the enamel, especially along the edges of the teeth and between the front teeth. That staining sits on the tooth and can be reduced well with the right toothpaste. On this page you will find the Marvis Smokers Whitening Mint line: an Italian whitening toothpaste developed specifically for smokers and coffee drinkers, available in 85 ml, as a 25 ml travel size and as a value 3-pack.
What to look for in a toothpaste for smokers
- Active stain remover. Marvis uses a polymer that lifts discolouration; other brands rely on hydrogen peroxide (bleaching) or activated charcoal (abrasion). Peroxide can cause sensitivity, and highly abrasive charcoal pastes can wear enamel.
- Fluoride. Smokers have a higher risk of cavities and gum problems, so always choose a whitening toothpaste with fluoride.
- Daily use. Stains come back as long as you smoke or drink coffee. A toothpaste you can use every day without irritation works better than an aggressive short course.
What to expect
Brushing twice a day, tooth colour usually becomes more even within two to four weeks. Old, stubborn stains are best removed first by a dental hygienist; after that, a whitening toothpaste keeps the result. Also read: what really works against smoke and coffee stains, and what damages your enamel.
