Ahava: inspired by nature

Ahava was founded in 1988 by a team dedicated to studying and protecting nature. They decided to explore the Dead Sea region in Israel, wanting to better understand the benefits that minerals and botanical substances can have for the skin. This was combined with knowledge about people and skin. Ultimately, it led to the development of a unique complex that forms the basis of all Ahava products.

The power of Dead Sea minerals

It all started with the development of Osmoter™, a unique complex and mineral catalyst. This complex contains the most powerful elements from the Dead Sea. The balanced blend of minerals hydrates the skin intensely. Osmoter™ draws moisture and nutrients from the deepest skin layers and brings them to the outer layers, where they are needed most. In this way, the products activate your skin from within.

A balance between science and nature

Ahava has a strong bond with nature. The brand sees the desert and the Dead Sea as its "home" and wants to take good care of it. Ahava's scientists strive to minimise their impact on the environment. At the factory, local plants are used to purify waste water so it can be returned to nature. This contributes to a healthy balance between science and nature. The formulas are kind to the environment and to your skin, too. All products are free from animal-derived ingredients (vegan), parabens and genetically modified ingredients. No controversial ingredients are used either, such as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), sodium laureth sulphate (SLES), phthalates and triclosan. All products are also halal. They undergo strict allergy testing and are suitable for sensitive skin.
